Bide-A-Wee Animal Shelter
The no-kill animal shelter with a 100-year history of matching pets with responsible homes had no web presence. Bide-A-Wee was ready to go online.
Challenge: Requirements assessment revealed that Bide-A-Wee has a strong but aging base of support, demographically tied to the NY metro area. But a strong educational component of the shelter's community outreach brings children into contact with Bide-A-Wee regularly.
Solution: The specifications were written to produce a site that would serve as a platform for email marketing to a national base of support, to appeal to children and adults, to show adoptable animals, and to initiate what could become a lifelong bond between people, the shelter and its mission.
Templated pages, content management tools for non-technical shelter staff, plus training and hardware recommendations made it possible for staff to easily update the text and images for adoptable animals.
